Y Kids - Shaving Cream Coloured Art

11 May 2020 - Y Kids

By Kristen Formosa - Children Service Coordinator at The Y Claremont Meadows OSHC

Supplies:

  • Dye/Food Colouring (you can even use paint watered down)
  • Ruler/Glass scraper
  • Tray
  • Paper
  • Shaving
  • Skewer/toothpick

Instructions:

  1. Spray an even layer of shaving foam onto the tray big enough to fit your paper.
  2. With the back of a spoon even out your shaving cream to make it flat.
  3. Drop dots of dye or food colouring onto the top of the shaving cream. (Tip: Using lots of lighter colours makes it a brighter picture and not so muddled with colour)
  4. With a skewer or toothpick swirl the colours together to create a marble pattern.
  5. Place the piece of paper on top of the shaving cream and colour pattern mixture.
  6. Gently pat it down so it can stick to the paper.
  7. Gently peel the paper off the shaving foam.
  8. Scrape off the excess foam using a ruler or a glass scraper.
  9. Hang or lay your pattern paper to dry. (It won’t take long at all)
