Vacation Care at the Y is available in a range of locations across NSW, including Sydney, Central Coast and Newcastle regions.
Our school holiday programs are jam-packed with activities designed to stimulate inquisitive minds, get kids physically active, and discover interests. Vacation Care is an opportunity for your child to meet new friends and socialise with others of different ages and diverse backgrounds. Our activity-based programs are developed by qualified educators who take into account individual children's interests and needs, aimed at providing a wide variety of experiences for all children to enjoy.
Activities can include:
The Y is committed to providing a fun, safe and nurturing environment for all children at all times.
We are planning to operate throughout the holidays and we are keeping in close contact with NSW Health regarding the latest government advice on Covid-19 (coronavirus). Following advice from the Department of Education, we have cancelled the planned excursions, and will replace with Day Camps and Workshops within our centres. Timetables have been updated online to reflect any changes.
We have amended our policy regarding absences and cancellations during this time, for more information please click here.
Who can attend?
Our Vacation Care services are open to school aged children who are eligible to attend primary school. Whether you are an existing YMCA OSHC family or a new enrolment, you are welcome at any of our Vacation Care services.
To be eligible to use our Vacation Care services, children must be eligible to enrol at school. Children eligible to start school in 2020 and attending Vacation Care for the first time, may only attend scheduled excursions if a risk assessment, completed by the coordinator, identifies the child has the required level of maturity.
How much does it cost?
We are a Child Care Subsidy (CCS) eligible service, which means your out of pocket expense will vary based on your individual eligibility requirements. We have listed a full fee amount as well as the maximum reduction available (if eligible for full 85% subsidy and also have enough activitity hours for the day of care).
For your individual fee reduction and to check your CCS eligibility, simply log into MyGov and complete your CCS assessment, or speak to our OSHC Call Centre.
What do I need to bring?
Children are required to bring a water bottle and broad brimmed hat, as well as wear weather suited clothes and closed in shoes. For excursions, children must wear YMCA Vacation Care t-shirt. Children are required to bring their own morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea (unless specified on individual day that lunch will be provided).
