The Y NSW is proud to announce that Camp Yarramundi will undergo a major redevelopment following the approval of a $44 million grant from the NSW Government. This once-in-a-generation investment will transform our much-loved camp into a world-class outdoor education and community facility, ready to inspire the next generation of young people from 2028 onward.
Temporary Closure During Construction
To deliver this exciting transformation, Camp Yarramundi will temporarily close from December 2025 while construction takes place. During this time, we will pause camp operations, with reopening planned for 2028.
We understand this temporary closure may impact some schools and community groups, and we’re working closely with each to explore other values aligned, child safe camp options such as alternative booking dates or referrals to partner camps including The Tops Conference Centre and Great Aussie Bush Camps.
A New Chapter for Camp Yarramundi
Since 1937, Camp Yarramundi has been a cornerstone of outdoor education and adventure for thousands of young people, schools, and community groups. This redevelopment will honour that legacy while creating a modern, inclusive, and sustainable environment that enhances learning, connection, and wellbeing through nature.
The new Camp Yarramundi will feature upgraded accommodation, contemporary learning and recreation spaces, enhanced accessibility, and expanded outdoor education facilities—all designed to deliver safe, high-quality, and memorable experiences for every participant.
Looking Ahead
We’re excited to involve our school and community partners in shaping the future of Camp Yarramundi. Throughout 2026, we’ll host a series of collaboration sessions—both in person and online—to share the vision, gather feedback, and offer early opportunities to secure future bookings ahead of the public reopening.
Stay Connected
We’ll continue to provide updates as the project progresses and look forward to welcoming you back to the all-new Camp Yarramundi in 2028—where young people will continue to grow, learn, and thrive in the great outdoors.
