The Skate Park League is a series of interconnected events across metropolitan and regional areas of NSW that include scooters, skateboarding and BMX.
We also deliver the Australian Skate Park League events within NSW, which is a part of a national league including Western Australia, Victoria, Tasmania, Northern Territory and South Australia. The YMCA NSW first commenced this program in 2014-15 and we are growing the number of events through our Youth Hubs.
Athletes and volunteers are encouraged to participate in multiple events throughout the year so that they can qualify for the state and national finals. Experts in this field are on hand to teach, inspire and mentor the participants. By running Skate Park events, we hope to build important connections and year-round opportunities for young people
Funding for this program is provided by local councils to encourage youth participation in their community. In 2017-18 there were 294 participants and over 1,000 spectators.
