YMCA NSW RECOGNISED FOR DELIVERING QUALITY OSHC SERVICES

27 Oct 2017 - Media ReleasesOSHCYouth

YMCA NSW-run out of school hours care (OSHC) services throughout the state have been recognised for excellence under the National Quality Framework.

Marrickville and Kotara OSHC have recently received ‘exceeding’ ratings as reviewed by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA). Valentine OSHC received a rating of ‘meeting’ under the national standards.

The three OSHC centres join over 45 YMCA NSW-run OSHC services that have achieved either ‘meeting’ or ‘exceeding’ ratings under the review.

YMCA NSW Regional Manager, Paul Franc, praised the OSHC teams for going above and beyond to achieve these ratings.

“Receiving a ‘meeting’ or ‘exceeding’ rating means that the service provides quality education and care.

“The teams in our OSHC services have worked very hard to achieve these outstanding results,” Paul said.

YMCA NSW has recently realigned its structure, and as part of the process has implemented a range of new practices designed to improve the quality of OSHC services.

“At the YMCA NSW, we believe in the power of inspired young people, so we’re proud to be providing a service of such a high standard to young people throughout NSW,” Paul said.

Each year more than 7000 children use YMCA NSW’s OSHC services, attending before school care, after school care, or vacation care.
