Update on the new Child Care Package

02 Feb 2018 - OSHC

The new Child Care Package commences 2 July 2018 and we want you to be prepared. To support you through the transition to the new package, we’ll be providing information on the important steps you’ll need to take over the coming months.

By now, you should have heard about the changes and checked the Online Child Care Subsidy Estimator to see how your subsidy may change as of July 2, 2018.

What’s next? Register now with myGov.

You may have recently received a letter from Centrelink noting that soon families will no longer be able to access Centrelink accounts with their existing logins. Instead, a myGov account will need to be created and/or linked to your Centrelink account.

When the new package begins on July 2, families will need to confirm enrolments for children in child care services via their myGov account in order to receive the Child Care Subsidy. This will be applicable to both new and existing enrolments.

Without a confirmed enrolment through myGov, the Child Care Subsidy will not be paid.

Need to create a myGov account?

If you do not already have a myGov account, you will need to create one via the Human Services website.

We are working closely with the Government and relevant sector partners to ensure we transition our families smoothly to the new Child Care Package. We’ll keep you well informed and aware of all changes along the way.
