A new round of Active Kids vouchers takes pressure off parents' pockets

06 Jan 2020 - Media ReleasesUpdates

The Y NSW is encouraging all NSW parents to make the most of the NSW Government’s $100 Active Kids vouchers, with new vouchers available now.

“This is a fantastic NSW Government initiative which the Y has been proud to support,” CEO of the Y Susannah Le Bron said.

“In 2019 alone, parents cashed in 8,418 vouchers with the Y NSW; that’s almost $900,000 worth of free sports, swimming lessons and physical activity for young people aged 4 to 18.

“There are no strings attached so we encourage all parents of school-aged children to make the most of this opportunity and spend your first $100 voucher in 2020 on one of the Y’s popular programs.”

Active Kids vouchers are redeemable for children who are enrolled in school, with each child eligible for two vouchers per calendar year worth $100 each. The first voucher is available now, and the second is released on July 1. Both vouchers expire on December 31, 2020.

Last year, swimming was the most popular activity at the Y NSW funded with the help of Active Kids vouchers, followed by gymnastics and sports competitions.

Vouchers can be used towards the cost of a variety of sport and fitness programs across 20 of our recreation centres.
