Coronavirus (COVID-19) announcement re. Youth Parliament 2020
At the Y NSW community health is our number one priority. In everything we do we seek to enhance the physical and mental wellbeing of inspired young people to activate their power.
In response to ongoing Government and expert advice regarding the evolving Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), we have made the difficult decision to cancel Youth Parliament for 2020.
The Y NSW is committed to being the best citizens we can be and doing everything in our power limit the spread of the virus within the broader community. We left no stone unturned exploring how we might still be able to deliver the program in the current environment. However, sadly the ongoing negative financial impact of COVID-19 and lack of NSW Government funding to support NSW Youth Parliament, coupled with public health concerns, have rendered cancellation unavoidable.
The Y NSW has reached out to all 2020 applicants and 100 per cent refunds will be issued. We look forward to welcoming our 2020 applicants as priority participants in the 2021 program, which promises to be a huge celebration of Youth Parliament NSW’s 20th anniversary.
More information about Novel Coronavirus can be found on the NSW Health website.
