What happens in Outside School Hours Care (OSHC)?

Every day is a different opportunity for children to learn something new! Our experienced Educators tailor programs for each child’s interests and ideas using the My Time Our Place framework. This nationally approved evidence-based framework emphasises the benefits of providing children with a broad range of opportunities to participate in a variety of leisure and play-based activities.
Depending on their interests, they may engage in:

  • Arts and crafts
  • Cooking
  • Drama, dance and music
  • Quiet reading and games area
  • Sports
  • Group games
  • Leisure and more.

Please note quiet space is provided for children who wish to use their time to complete homework.  However, Educators are unable to offer individual help as they need to supervise all children.

We understand that an organised and well-resourced environment promotes individual and collaborative play and development. We ensure thoughtful and sufficient play resources and equipment are provided for a range of activities and programs, fostering holistic and varied education and care experiences for the children.

What should my child bring to OSHC?

Children should bring a hat and a water bottle. Food is optional as breakfast and afternoon tea are provided within specific times. Children should also bring any personal items to support their individual care needs (e.g. medication or change of clothes).

How can I enrol my child/children?

At the Y, we use an online platform called My Family Lounge to take new enrolments and manage bookings. Please visit our enquiry page to register your interest. Our enrolment team will then be in touch with the next steps.
