Brightside is a free 60-day program that gives people living with mental health issues the opportunity to enhance their physical health, wellbeing and social engagement.
Through our GymAbility program, people with disability have the chance to participate and compete in gymnastics. It’s a positive and encouraging environment that’s good for the mind, body and soul.
In partnership with Parkinsons Australia we run Parkincise at YMCA Caringbah. This programs gives people with Parkinson’s Disease free access to our facilities so they can stay active and moving.
This program consists of supervised exercise classes which work to improve cardiovascular health and muscle strength. The sessions begin with a group warm up, participants then complete their own personalised workout program in the fitness facility.
The Y NSW is currently reviewing how Fee Assistance can be offered in line with current COVID-19 restrictions and the significantly reduced incomes in our Recreation Centres.
Fee Assistance may be available again in early 2021 and it is suggested you check with your local centre later in the year.
The Y NSW is aiming to again be in a position to support all people in our communities as soon as we recover from the impact of COVID-19.
