SUMMER BODY FOR A GOOD CAUSE

14 Nov 2017 - Media ReleasesRecreation

YMCA NSW is offering 10 days for $10 across all their health and fitness centres and aquatic sites this November.

From 15 November to 17 December a $10 donation will not only give people a 10 day trial but will help fund important community across mental health, youth, ageing and disability programs.

YMCA NSW CEO Leisa Hart says every dollar will help to continue the delivery of these life-changing  programs to in-need individuals and their local communities.

“At the YMCA we’ve got a long history of creating positive change. Our cycle of impact focuses on the individual, families of shapes and sizes, and the local communities we serve.”

“All the programs we have in place provide a vital lifeline for people to connect to their local communities, they also help to engage young people and give them various personal development opportunities,” Ms Hart says.

The community programs that will benefit from the funds raised include:

  • Brightside – a 60-day program that gives people living with mental health issues the opportunity to enhance their physical health, overall wellbeing and social engagement
  • Ability programs – designed to help people with disability to participate in swimming and other physical activities
  • Community Visitors Scheme – a program that provides companionship and social interaction for people in aged care
  • YMCA NSW Youth Parliament – a platform for young people to have their voices heard through legislative debate.

“This offer’s a great introduction to the YMCA and you get the added bonus of knowing you’ve contributed to a great cause,” says Leisa.
