YMCA invests in the local community with bright new state-of-the-art buses to transport children

15 Nov 2016 - Media ReleasesOSHC

Newcastle and Lake Macquarie roads are brighter and more cheerful than ever before with the addition of three new state-of-the-art YMCA buses to transport children to and from its out of school hours care (OSHC) services in the region.

The three new 22-seater Toyota Coasters will transport children from 14 local schools to and from the YMCA OSHC services at St James Primary School, Kotara and Biraban Primary School, Toronto, replacing the existing vehicles.

At a cost of $300,000, the buses are a significant and important investment in the community, YMCA NSW CEO Leisa Hart said.

“At YMCA NSW our mission is to create happier, healthier and more connected communities. As such, we are delighted be able to provide the new buses to ensure the continued comfort and safety of the children who attend our out of school hours care facilities at Kotara and Toronto.”

YMCA Newcastle Area Manager Simone Mowczan added: “Our focus on safety and quality of care begins the moment the children enter our care – and these fantastic new buses are a tangible example of this. Give them a wave if you see them on the road!”
