The Y Australia has launched its new national brand platform entitled, 'It Starts Here'. The platform reflects the positive difference Y centre's make in communities across the country and emphasises that some of life's most important journeys start with a single opportunity, a helping hand, or a place to belong.
Every day, the Y NSW bears witness to those firsts - a child's first tumble at Kinder Gym, a grandparent's first friendship at a PrYme Movers class, a young person's first time feeling safe at our Alternative Suspension program, or a future leader’s first time presenting a bill as part of the Youth Parliament program. Staff, volunteers and participants have the honour of inspiring lives through the Y NSW's sport and recreation centres, children's services, youth programs, and Camp Yarramundi.
Across Australia, the Y is where first steps become lifelong skills, first connections become friendships, and people discover what they are capable of.
The launch of 'It Starts Here' represents the collective work of Y associations across the country, coming together to shape a shared story that reflects who we are, what we do, and the impact we create in communities every day.
An example of the new national branding with Y NSW imagery.
As the national peak body and federated social enterprise for the Y movement in Australia, The Y Australia supports and unites independent member associations operating across each state and territory. The Y NSW operates independently at a state level while contributing to this shared national vision as one of the federation's member associations.
The Y NSW is also part of a global movement that spans more than 120 countries and reaches tens of millions of people each year. With approximately 10,000 local Y centres and associations worldwide, the movement is one of the largest and longest-standing youth and community organisations in the world.
As the Y enters this new chapter, 'It Starts Here' serves as a powerful reminder of the role we play in communities every day. While every journey begins locally, it is backed by a national federation and a global movement united by a shared commitment to helping children, young people and communities feel safe, connect and thrive.
From first opportunities to lifelong outcomes, the Y NSW remains committed to creating positive impact from a person's very first visit.
