Community update: Three YMCA services remain closed due to continuing fire danger

13 Nov 2019 - Media ReleasesUpdates

Three YMCA NSW (The Y) services will remain closed today, Wednesday 13 November, to ensure the safety of staff, members and the broader community as bushfires and dangerous weather conditions continue to threaten communities in parts of the state.

The services that will remain closed until further notice are:
·         Great Lakes Aquatic and Leisure Centre
·         Manning Aquatic Leisure Centre
·         Wingham Memorial Swimming Pool.

The rest of our services have reopened and all of our Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) services will operate as usual today.
Susannah Le Bron, Chief Executive of the Y, thanked staff, volunteers, members and the community for their support during this period of heightened bushfire risk.

“We really appreciate your support and patience as we have worked to ensure the safety of our hardworking staff and all of our members,” she said.

“The majority of our sites have reopened, but with challenging weather conditions set to continue, I encourage our members and families to stay tuned to social media and our website for any changes.”
