Getting Children to Play with New YMCA Playland

Local children will soon have a new way to play and be active at YCMA Penrith.

With a generous $20,000 grant under the 2013 Community Building Partnership Program, along with assistance from the YMCA (the Y), YMCA Penrith is pleased to be opening a new YMCA Playland on Monday 9 March 2015.

The Playland will feature split levels of soft play fun, including a variety of ramps and bridges, a slide, ball pit and plenty of space to exercise little ones from aged 2 to 6. Access is free with a YMCA Family Membership, or $2 for casual entry.

"YMCA Playland is the perfect addition to our existing family programming. Now they have a new way to keep active, while busy parents can take a much needed break at our cafe," said centre manager, Sam Cosgrove. "The Playland provides an any time activity during centre hours, so families can spend time together and live happier, healthier lives."

"The facilities at YMCA Penrith offer the local community the opportunity to integrate physical activity into our daily routines. The new play-area will encourage children 6 and under to have fun, undertake physical activities and interact socially with those of a similar age," said Stuart Ayres MP.
