Shirley has left the Y the most heartwarming testimonial about her journey:
"I came to the Y because I found everyone very welcoming. You are not judged on what you can or cannot do but instead, you are continuously encouraged to try what you feel comfortable with. The instructors adapt exercises to your ability taking into account your age and any injuries that you may have.
We have plenty of laughs along the way as we all get better at following the routines. We are a happy, friendly bunch and find the staff all very helpful with much encouragement given to all of us.
When I first came to the Y I was nervous and upset that I couldn't join in. I now come at least 3 times a week and I feel more alive than ever. I am 70 years old and I think it is the best thing I have done in a long time. I am hoping to lose some weight and improve my overall health."
