The Y NSW is excited to reopen doors at Mt Annan Leisure Centre from Monday, June 22 creating opportunities for youth and communities to connect, stay active and reimagine health and wellness goals in the new normal.
Following the NSW Government’s easing of restrictions, the gym will open June 22 with important new changes in place to help members and staff stay safe while staying fit. Group Fitness will recommence June 29 and the indoor pool, spa, sauna and steam are expected to open shortly following maintenance.
“We are opening with the support of Camden Council in what are still uncertain times and want to reassure our patrons that these facilities will be following all NSW and Federal health advice with extensive social distancing and hygiene measures in place,” said Y NSW CEO Susannah Le Bron.
“Mt Annan Leisure Centre is a place for everyone to enjoy and stay fit but more than that, it’s an important place for community connection.
“We are very proud of our staff for their commitment to keeping this great community asset maintained throughout closure, which has allowed us to open as soon as possible for the community after such challenging times.”
The Y has been working with Camden Council to make the facility COVID Safe and this has included the installation of protective screens, social distancing floor markings, more hand sanitiser stations, increased cleaning and hygiene signage. All staff are receiving additional COVID Safe training and access to the centre will be limited. As per NSW Government guidelines, the number of people in the facility must not exceed more than one person per four square metres (including staff) and the following restrictions will apply
- Gym floor (max 138 patrons)
- Group fitness (max 20 per class)
- Indoor 25m Pool (max 50 people) * Open date to be communicated shortly
- Spa/steam/sauna currently remains closed
- Restricted access to change rooms (patrons encouraged to shower at home)
