Update regarding the Broken Hill YMCA Redevelopment Project

Dear members,

YMCA wishes to provide an update on the exciting YMCA redevelopment project, being supported by funding from the NSW Government’s Restart NSW Resources for Regions program.

We have secured two interim buildings that will see almost all of the current programs and services offered to the Broken Hill community maintained through the redevelopment.

We can confirm that our last day operating at the current YMCA building will be Friday 29th September 2017. We will spend the subsequent three (3) days moving and we will reopen for business from 5.15am on Tuesday 3rd October 2017 at Interim Building One.

Please see below for further details:

Interim Building One (8-10 Oxide Street/Old North Economy Building)

Main building for existing programs and services (including the Health Club, Group Fitness, Spin & Crèche. Lorna Jane Activewear, protein and supplements will be sold)

A full schedule of activities will be provided by 1st September 2017.

Interim Building Two (BIU Band Hall Blende Street)

Our Zumba and Pryme Zumba programs will operate out of the BIU Hall. A full schedule of activities will be provided by 1st September 2017.

A Crèche will be provided at this venue at a fee of $4 per session with two staff on duty at all times. Booking policies will apply.

Birthday Parties

Birthday parties will be offered at Broken Hill Regional Aquatic Centre

Squash

Broken Hill Squash Club will continue to have access to the existing courts at the YMCA until December 4th 2017.

Casual squash court access will not be available from 29th September until the new facility re-opens

Interim arrangements for squash during the construction of the new YMCA are still being considered.

Fees, charges and trading hours

YMCA is not proposing to increase fees and charges as a result of the relocation

All operating hours will remain the same

Further details will be shared around the redevelopment timeline and milestones when they become available.

We will provide regular updates to our members and the community as work begins on the new facility. You can find out more by visiting www.ymcansw.org.au/brokenhill or by phoning us on 8088 1999.

Kind regards,

Shane Simmons
