YMCA NSW Commitment to Safeguarding Children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults

All those who work for or on behalf of the YMCA NSW will take all possible actions to prevent risks of harm to anyone in receipt of YMCA NSW services who are in the following categories:

  • A child or young person or group of people who are under 18 years of age
  • A vulnerable adult.

By:

  • Respecting their rights
  • Not tolerating abuse of any kind to these groups
  • Ensuring that those in these groups are provided with an environment where they can learn, grow, are respected and valued and feel happy and safe
  • Taking all complaints and allegations seriously
  • Educating our staff on their responsibility in recognising and reporting abuse.
