What We Stand For

Five things that shape everything we do

Child Safe

Through play-based learning and meaningful experiences, we help children build confidence, develop new skills and thrive in a safe, respectful environment — creating spaces where children are safe, respected, included and empowered.

Not-for-Profit

Our revenue is reinvested into programs that strengthen services, communities and support young people.

Lifelong Pathway

Our team provides both incidental and planned teaching experiences, led by trained early childhood teachers, which foster new skills, social connections, a strengthened sense of belonging and wellbeing.

The team is led by an Early Childhood Teacher and an Educational Leader, both holding bachelor's degrees in early childhood education. Our qualified educators work together to provide a safe, inclusive environment that exceeds minimum standards.

Community Focused

We work in partnership with families, supporting your goals for your children and helping them develop a lifelong love of learning, confidence, resilience and strong values.

Collaboration between families, educators and the broader community ensures children receive consistent support across all areas of development.

Whole Child Development

We see each child as an individual with their own strengths and interests. Our programs are thoughtfully planned to support skill development across all key developmental domains — social, emotional, physical and language — ensuring a holistic approach to each child's growth and learning.

Our Commitment

Child safety comes first

At The Y NSW, nothing is more important than the safety and wellbeing of children.

We are committed to creating child-safe environments where every child feels safe, respected, valued and supported. Our approach is guided by strong safeguarding practices, clear policies, and a culture of accountability that prioritises the best interests of children at all times.

We expect all staff, volunteers, contractors and partners to uphold our commitment to child safety and to contribute to environments that protect children from harm.

Together, we work to ensure that every child who engages with The Y NSW has a positive, inclusive and safe experience.

Why The Y Is Different

Can I claim the Child Care Subsidy?
Child Care Subsidy (CCS)   The Y is an approved Child Care Subsidy (CCS).   Services Australia provides several subsidies to assist families who are eligible to reduce the cost of childcare. For eligible families enrolled, the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) will assist with reducing out of pocket childcare expenses and help to make childcare more affordable.   To find out more about what you may be eligible for and to register, please visit the Services Australia website (insert link).   Please note:  If your Child Care Subsidy has not yet been approved and finalised by Centrelink at the commencement of care, full fee payment will be required. Once your CCS entitlements have been confirmed, your CCS will be backdated to the date of your CCS application. Attendances can be backdated up to 28 days. Any CCS prior to 28 days will be reconciled directly with the family.   CCS will only apply from the first day your child physically attends care and up to the last day your child physically attends care. This is called Cessation of care. Once cessation of care has been applied, a full fee will be applied to these sessions.   CCS enrolments will automatically cease after 14 weeks of non-attendance and will need to be reconfirmed for each vacation care period. Please ensure all terms and conditions are reviewed when applying for the CCS with Services Australia, each individual person has their own CRN number provided by Services Australia.
