  • First Aid Certificate

Membership Services Officer

What we expect from you:
 

The Membership Services Officer at the YMCA will be required to provide leadership and direction in sales to the Customer Services and Fitness Team.  You are required to work with a range of staff to meet the goals and objectives of all programs in the centre.  

The Membership Services Officer is responsible for assisting Centre Management in achieving participation and membership targets in line with Business Plan objectives. This is a combination sales/marketing position servicing the needs of the Centres Coordinators, Managers and the General Manager.  

Essential

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Experience in sales
  • Experience in customer service

Desirable

  • First Aid and CPR
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Training in sales

Centre Manager

What we expect from you:  

The Centre Manager will be an efficient, well-organised, self-driven and motivated, showing strong commitment to facility management, staff development and customer service. Emphasis on leadership and motivation in a challenging environment will require excellent communication and presentation skills.  

The ability to perform consistently to ensure the successful ongoing management of YMCA operations will be essential in maintaining and achieving within these roles. An understanding of the key success criteria in operating an Aquatic and Health and Fitness facility is essential.  

The individual will be both qualified and have industry experienced in all facets of staff management, financial management and reporting, marketing, risk management and program and service development including strong evaluation techniques and strategies.  

Essential

  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Management Experience in Health Club and Aquatic operations or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Community Recreation
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Highly developed observation and reporting skills
  • Ability to oversee planning, development, implementation and evaluation of developmentally appropriate programs reflecting the multi-cultural and social nature of the community
  • Senior First Aid

Desirable

  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing staff
  • Knowledge of financial management and reporting
  • Experience in the development and implementation of business development projects
  • Experience using MRM Point of Sales System
  • Pool Operations Certificate and Lifeguard Qualifications

They will also be required to provide support to the Administration Coordinator as required, and ensure that all records are maintained at the highest possible level while maintaining general office functions.

Indigenous Management Academy

We are currently seeking a full time Indigenous Management Academy Coordinator, based in Parramatta, to lead the establishment and implementation of the YMCA NSW Indigenous Management Academy.

Key Responsibilities

YMCA NSW is committed to creating opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders to pursue meaningful careers. The person selected will be responsible for implementing the YMCAs Indigenous Employment and Training Strategy and achieving its aims by establishing the YMCA Indigenous Management Academy (IMA). The person selected will be responsible for maximizing the number of Indigenous people employed at all levels in YMCA Centres and establishing mechanisms to grow this number over subsequent years.

The initial focus will be on three key areas including raising awareness and building partnerships, providing training and job readiness outcomes for candidates and providing ongoing support, guidance and mentorship for all Indigenous employee’s.

Qualifications and Knowledge

  • Effective oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to interact with Indigenous people in a positive, sensitive and respectful manner; 
  • Ability to liaise and negotiate effectively with service providers, government agencies and community stakeholders; 
  • Certificate IV Training and Assessment
  • Ability to promote the YMCA NSW and the jobs and career paths it will offer; 
  • Ability to research and write submissions for funding; 
  • Relevant experience in recruitment/employment service delivery with Indigenous people; 
  • Current NSW driver’s license;
  • Knowledge of DEEWR employment service systems, programs and funding; 
  • Knowledge of and commitment to, the principles of equal opportunity
