Gone are the days of processing payments in the centre week by week. The Y’s Pay by the Week direct debit system is designed to make it quick and easy for you to make payments. With direct debit, weekly fees are automatically deducted from your account, meaning you can focus on the more important things in life.
Before and After School Care:
Pay by the week direct debit is the payment method for your YMCA Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) account.
Payments are made upfront via Credit Card or EFTPOS.

Our Direct Debit for Before and After School Care is processed every Friday, for all attendance in the week to Friday. You will be issued with a fortnightly statement that will summarise all OSHC charges and Pay by the Week payments made.

Pay by the Week direct debit is one of the safest ways to pay your bills.
Smaller payments allow for easier household budgeting. Pay by the Week offers you the convenience of ensuring that your account is paid on time, without the hassle of having to manually process the payment yourself. (You can forget about payments as they will be made automatically).
From a processing point of view, Pay by the Week significantly reduces administrative procedures and time, ensuring staff spend more time delivering a high-quality service for your child.
No set up costs or administration charges. How will I be debited? We will only debit the amount shown as outstanding on your OSHC account each week.
The debit will be the amount remaining after your CCB rebate has been applied.
You will be able to see the amount debited each week in your bank statement.
All accounts are processed through Westpac. What will appear on my bank statement? If you are paying by credit card, “YMCA of Sydney” will appear on your statement. For those paying from a bank account, the name of your YMCA OSHC centre will appear on your statement.

Child Care Benefit (CCB)
The Child Care Benefit (CCB) is a payment from the Australian Government that helps you with the cost of your child care.
Who is eligible for the CCB?
You can get the CCB if you are a parent, foster parent or grandparent with a child in your care who is attending a child care service approved by, or registered with, the Government. You must meet certain requirements to receive the CCB.
How much do I receive through the CCB?
The amount of CCB you receive depends on:
· Your income
·The type of care you use (registered)
· The amount of care you use
· The reason you are using care
· The number of children in your care
What eligibility requirements do I have to meet to get the CCB? To receive the CCB, you must meet the following requirements:
· Residency: You or your partner must be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident living in Australia or be exempt from the Government's residency requirements.
· Immunisation: Children under seven must meet the Government's immunisation requirements or have an exemption.
· Responsibility for child care payments: You must be the one responsible for your child care costs. If your employer contributes to your child care through salary sacrificing or packaging, you should discuss with them who is responsible for the child care costs.
What is the work, training, study test?
This test determines how many hours of CCB you can get. For registered care you must be working, training or studying, or have an exemption from this test to get up to 50 hours of CCB per child per week. For approved care all families can get up to 24 hours of CCB per child per week.
To get up to 50 hours you need to be working, training or studying for at least 15 hours per week (or 30 hours per fortnight) or have an exemption from this test. More than 50 hours per week may be available to families if both parents (or the lone parent) are not available due to work, study or training commitments or if the family is experiencing exceptional circumstances. It is usually only available for families in certain circumstances who need extra assistance.

The CCB rates reduce on a sliding scale depending on your income and the number of children you have in child care. The CCB payment reduces for high income families until the rate they receive is zero. The income levels at which the payment phases out depends on the number of children a family has in approved care.
Families who are eligible for CCB but receive zero payment may still be eligible for the Child Care Rebate. What if my child is absent? You will receive the CCB and the CCR for 42 absence days per child each financial year. These days can be for any reason and you will not be required to provide an explanation. You may be entitled to additional absence days for specific reasons. There is no limit on these days but you may be required to provide documentation to support your child's absence.
What do I need to tell my child care provider?
To ensure that you don't have to repay any of your CCB at the end of the financial year, you should advise your child care provider:
· If your circumstances change and you are no longer eligible to receive reduced fees.
· If you are using more than one child care service for your child.· If one of your children stops using child care.
· If you or your partner stop working, studying or training for more than 20 hours. Important points to remember about CCB
· CCB is not a tax benefit and cannot be claimed through the tax system. · If you choose to have your benefit paid directly to your child care centre as reduced fees, you must estimate your family's income as accurately as possible in advance. · You can receive the minimum amount of CCB without providing an estimate of your income.
· Your CCB will be balanced at the end of the financial year. Adjustments will be necessary if your actual family income is different to your estimate.
· Your child care provider must send information about your child care usage, attendance details and fee reductions to the Department of Human Services.
· You are entitled to a full session of child care if you have paid for a full session of care.
Child Care Rebate
The Child Care Rebate (CCR) is paid in addition to Child Care Benefit (CCB) and covers 50% of your out-of-pocket child care expenses, up to a maximum amount per child per year. If you claim and are eligible for the Child Care Benefit for approved child care and you and your partner meet the Child Care Rebate 'work, training, study test' (or are exempt from it), you may also be eligible for Child Care Rebate.
The rebate covers 50% of your out-of-pocket expenses (up to a maximum amount per child per year), when you claim the Child Care Benefit for approved child care. Out-of-pocket expenses are the total expense of your child care fees less the amount of any Child Care Benefit or of any jobs, education and training, and Child Care Fee Assistance you receive.
Who is eligible for the CCR?
There are eligibility requirements for receiving the CCR. To be eligible for the CCR, you need to be assessed as being eligible for the Child Care Benefit for approved child care, even if you are assessed at a zero rate. You do not need to lodge a claim for the CCR. You will automatically be assessed when you claim Child Care Benefit for approved child care. The rebate is then paid to you if you are eligible for Child Care Benefit for approved child care and you meet the Child Care Rebate 'work, training, study test' (or are exempt from it).
Payment methods for CCR
There are four ways to receive your CCR:
· Directly to your Child Care Benefit approved child care service on a fortnightly basis (or in many circumstances weekly). · Directly to your bank account on a fortnightly basis (or in many circumstances weekly).
· By quarterly payment to your bank account bank account .
· By annual payment to your bank account (this payment option is only available if you receive your CCB for approved child care as a lump sum payment). If you prefer not to lodge a CCB lump sum payment claim at the end of each year, you should consider claiming the Child Care Benefit fee reduction at the zero rate.
This will allow you to receive your CCR fortnightly, quarterly or, in many circumstances, weekly.
Note: The payment method you choose for the CCR will be applied for the entire financial year.
A new payment method cannot be applied until the start of the next financial year unless exceptional circumstances apply.
Direct to your CCB approved child care service ('direct to service')
Your CCR will be paid to your child care service/services fortnightly (or in many circumstances weekly). This will be paid when your child care attendance is received. The CCR amount will be deducted from your total child care fees. If you are receiving the CCB at a rate greater than zero, and you choose this payment option, then 15% of your CCR entitlement will be withheld until the end of the financial year.
Direct to you (customer)
Your Child Care Rebate will be paid directly to your nominated bank account fortnightly (or in many circumstances weekly). This will be done when your child care attendance is received. If you are receiving the BBC at a rate greater than zero, and you choose this payment option, then 15% of your CCR entitlement will be withheld until the end of the financial year.
Quarterly payments to you Your Child Care Rebate entitlement will be credited to your nominated bank account quarterly. The first quarter commences on the first Monday in July of each financial year. Each quarter is for a period of 13 weeks. Quarterly payments are paid in October, January, and April, with the last quarter paid at reconciliation. Annual payment to you Your Child Care Rebate will be paid directly to your nominated bank account as a lump sum, at the end of the financial year, once your and your partner's tax returns have been lodged and your child care attendance has been received.
